We are home and adjusting. Well, the word adjusting is a relative term that seems to flow as they days continue. Considering where we were at with our son when we first meet him, which was simply him not wanting anything to do with us we are progressing. He is simply a joy unspeakable in our lives. He is acclimating quite well to us and we have developed a strong affinity towards him. It has been a week since we have been home and Lawson "Teshome" is on a decent schedule. He is starting to sleep good at night, naps have become more frequent and meal time, lets just say my boy likes it hot. I am talking about "hot sauce" hot. He likes his Milk heated in the morning in which he sips, he likes flavor and seasoning. For example, does not like Ketchup, but loves Mustard. Chickfila was interesting! He was hand over fist with those nuggets. I had to slow him down because he looked like a chipmunk. I hit the road again this coming monday to SC, so three more camps to go! This is the true test of whether or not we will have some separation issues. Pray for grace in this situation specifically. However, all is good. Our church has loved on us in ways we never imagined. They hooked his room up to make it truly a man cave and meals have been provided for us. Its been amazing. My boy is a rock star at our church and he has not even made an appearance yet. Stay tuned for more. Thank you for your interest and love for our family! ed

We are minutes from taking off from Atlanta Airport! We will arrive in Dubai Saturday night and then finally arrive in Ethiopia on Sunday. We will meet our son on Monday morning and have a court date on Tuesday. If all goes according to plan we will be returning on Thursday. To express my anxiety currently is impossible. Considering my flights were cancelled from Jacksonville, FL. to meet my family in Memphis then to make the journey. However, they put me in Atlanta to connect with my family, but currently Stephanie and the girls flight is delayed and should arrive within 30 minutes of our flight taking off to Dubai. This is getting quite interesting. This could be the adoptive form of "birth pains". So, shoot me with an epideral is my thought at the moment. If you receive no further info consider no news good news which would have meant my wife and my girls made it to connect with me as we jumped on the flight at the last minute. For those reading at the moment of 8:48 eastern time. Pray! More to come! Ed

With great excitement and joy I share the following. Our paperwork has been expedited and we are leaving for Africa to get our son Teshome July 2, 2010. Stephanie, London, Lola, Liv, Stephanie’s sister, father and myself will be making the journey. We can hardly contain the excitement that we are feeling. Our prayers is that not only will our travel logistics go smoothly, but more than anything that God would create within Teshome’s heart an affinity for us as his new parents. Everything that we have read and learned say this encounter with the adoptive child is usually difficult for the child, but we are praying that God would draw his heart towards our heart and make them kindred. We will be returning from Ethiopia on July 8th Lord willing with Teshome in our midst. It is hard to believe that we have been in the adoptive process for over one year and a half, but every class, interview, medical test with shots, and the filling out of countless documentation has been completely worth it for this one divine moment. Adoption to us a believers is our story of God coming to us and liquidating His greatest asset Jesus Christ for the redemption of our souls. This was done for one primary purpose and that was for the changing of our status as sons and daughters of the King. This is our story and we are grateful for you to have been apart of this journey with us.
